Repair or replace?

You deserve an honest answer about your roof

Some roofing companies are built to sell replacements. We are built to solve problems.

If a focused repair can safely extend the life of your roof, we will tell you. If continued repairs would only delay an unavoidable replacement, we will explain why and show you what we found. You receive practical options, straightforward pricing, and the information needed to make a confident decision.

Roof repair

Roof repairs that address the actual problem

A leak does not always mean the shingles have failed. Water may be entering around flashing, pipe boots, vents, walls, valleys, or exposed fasteners. We inspect the surrounding roof system, trace the likely entry point, and recommend a repair designed to correct the cause—not simply cover the symptom.

Common repairs include:

Add an honest qualification: very small repairs may be subject to a minimum service charge. Publish the amount only if Tim wants it public.

Roof replacement

When replacement is the right long-term decision

Replacement may make more sense when a roof has widespread deterioration, recurring leaks, significant storm damage, failing materials, or limited remaining service life. We explain the condition, compare available roofing systems, and provide a detailed written proposal with no vague allowances or surprise upgrades.

Your replacement is treated as a complete roofing system—not just a layer of new shingles. We pay attention to decking, leak barriers, underlayment, flashing, ventilation, drip edge, pipe boots, manufacturer installation requirements, and cleanup.

Workmanship

10-Year Workmanship Warranty

Your new roof is backed by Built Right Homes’ 10-Year Workmanship Warranty. If a problem occurs because of the way your roofing system was installed, we will inspect it and correct the covered workmanship issue at no charge.

This warranty covers installation-related workmanship performed by Built Right Homes. Roofing materials are covered separately by the applicable manufacturer’s warranty. Damage caused by severe weather, falling objects, structural movement, improper maintenance, alterations by others, or normal wear is not included.

Complete warranty terms are provided with your roofing agreement.

Roofing materials

Shingle options we install and trust

All three are quality architectural shingles. The right one depends on your home’s exposure, your budget, and the look you’re after.

Algae resistance

Atlas Pinnacle

A well-balanced architectural shingle with Scotchgard protection that helps resist the dark algae streaking common in humid East Tennessee summers.

Nailing strength

Owens Corning Duration

Known for its SureNail fastening strip, which gives the nail line extra grip. A dependable choice for homes that take direct wind exposure.

Value and durability

TAMKO Titan XT

A heavier shingle with a reinforced nailing zone at a competitive price point. A practical option when budget matters but durability still counts.

Standing seam metal

A roof built for the long term

Standing seam metal costs more up front, and for the right home it can be the last roof you buy.

Longevity

Properly installed standing seam commonly lasts decades longer than asphalt.

Weather resistance

Concealed fasteners and interlocking panels stand up well to wind and heavy rain.

Energy efficiency

Reflective finishes reduce heat gain, which helps during long Tennessee summers.

Modern appearance

Clean vertical lines that suit farmhouse, craftsman, and contemporary homes.

Warranty

Coverage explained before you sign, not after

East Tennessee storms can lift shingles, crack boots, and damage flashing in ways that are hard to see from the ground.

After severe weather, we perform a detailed storm inspection and photograph what we find. If the damage looks claim-worthy, you get organized documentation you can hand directly to your insurance company.

We’re glad to be on site when the adjuster visits and to explain the damage in technical terms. What we won’t do is promise an approval. Coverage decisions are made by your insurer based on your policy, and any contractor who guarantees a claim outcome is telling you what you want to hear.
